KTAM whakatauki

Kia ora, nau mai, haere mai.

Welcome to Ngā Kiriahi, our community space for Kia Takatū ā-Matihiko, the national Digital Readiness programmeFor support on how to set up your profile and navigate this community, go to Ngā Kiriahi instructional videos.

Kia Takatū ā-Matihiko is a bicultural model providing all kaiako, tumuaki, teachers and leaders with learning opportunities and expertise (face-to-face, online) to ensure they are ready and equipped to implement Digital Technologies and Hangarau Matihiko by 2020.

This is your community, a safe, open place tfor you to engage with the content (Pīkau, toolkits) and each other. You're invited to share your wonderings, ideas and expertise. No question is too small, no answer too long. This community is designed to support your learning as you gain knowledge, confidence and skills to implement the new Digital Technologies and Hangarau Matihiko curricula.

Ngā Kiriahi is where we can connect online, learn from each other in an inclusive, encouraging way that demonstrates:

  • whanaungatanga (relationships)
  • manaakitanga (support)
  • mohiotanga (sharing)
  • tuakana / teina (helping one another).

Here you’ll find Ngā Rōpū (groups) with content and conversations that supports Kia Takatū ā-Matihiko Pīkau online content and groups to support community connections for both Māori medium and English medium. For support about the site, join the Hei āwhina: Help group.

As well as contributing to Ngā Matapakinga (discussions) that link to targeted activity in these groups, you will also be able to start discussion threads or create and maintain groups of your own. For more support, please feel free to contact your community facilitators, Hohepa Isaac - Sharland and Tessa Gray.

While our community is facilitated, we’d also like you to be curious risk takers and kaitīaki (guardians) much like Māui and Mahuika and nurture rich and empowering conversations by helping to give oxygen to everyone’s contributions, as well as providing some shared māramatanga (understandings). For more about your role and expectations in this community, see Community guidelines as well as our Terms and Conditions. For more technical support on how to navigate and use this community, see Ngā Kiriahi: Help group or contact us @ patai@kiatakatu.ac.nz.
