    20 March 2019: Online

Come along to this Technology Online webinar and hear Deidre Senior (Principal, Waitaki Valley Primary School) and Cheryl Pym (Accredited Professional Learning and Development Facilitator, Otago University) talk about the work they have been doing together with classroom teachers developing integrated programmes of learning using local curriculum that aligns with the technology learning area.

This includes digital technologies (computational thinking for digital technologies and designing and developing digital outcomes) and also the three other technological areas (designing and developing material outcomes, designing and developing processed outcomes and design and visual communication) ie: Over the course of years 1–10, students learn in all five technological areas, developing their knowledge and skills in context. Register here.

Technology Online has hosted another great presentation, where primary teacher and STEM specialist Sarah Washbrooke shares how she makes connections locally across her community to find authentic ways to integrate both Computational Thinking and Designing and Developing Digital Outcomes. Well worth viewing and sharing.
