Mahuika Mahuika, the keeper of fire possesses many traits such as kaitīaki/guardianship, responsible, insightful, long fuse/patient, protector, fierce, social good. These same traits can guide us online. #belikemahuika

Māui possesses qualities like playfulness, innovative, adaptable, growth mindset, risk-taker, curiosity, problem solver, crafty, goal-oriented, active pursuit, bug fixer and collaborator. #belikemāui

I feel that in many ways I share similar qualities Mahuika in my work: responsible and patient mainly. Yet I am willing to innovate and am curious about new teaching strategies like Maui. Most teachers would probably be a mix of Mahuika and Maui to keep abreast with the new developments in Education.

I am definitely a bit of both.  As a learner, I am more like Maui.  I have the attention span of the 6 year olds that I teach, so things need to be active, fun and dynamic.  As a teacher I am both Maui and Mahuika.

I am a bit of both. I’ll go at it if I’m confident yet step back and take time to think about it if needed.

I am a Maui . I like to have the space to move and develop ideas as they occur to me.

I am a bit of both but probably sway more towards Mahuika.
I need to think through some things in depth especially if others are relying on my lead, but at times can jump straight in if i am confident in what I am doing. smiley

Like most of the respondents I am a mixture of both. I like to tutu and make mistakes but I also like some sort of order so that I can make sense of what I've been doing and how I can improve.

I am a mixture of both. I like to have a quick look over all the information and then go back and delve deeper into the content.

I am a combination of the two. Like Maui, I like to jump in and skim the content. Then like Mahuika, I like to go back and dig deeper to gain more understanding.
